Gems and Secrets
We've had this Skinnydip record stuck in our head all week and upon hearing it for the first time we knew this would be a great fit for Gems & Secrets. The instrumental and the production is fun and easy to listen to all while Claire Brook's vocal style is as relatable and as catchy as they come....
Ones To Watch
Indie-pop duo, Skinnydip just released their second single of 2018 with the spacey, dream-pop break-up anthem “Hide.” The track is rich with ethereal sounds but rooted in a consistent, driving beat which together induces a sort of trance over the listener. As lead-vocalist Jon Hill muses that his former love is “on your own,” the production builds and flowers into an array of shimmering textures and celestial sounds. Though the musical elements of the tune are certainly out of this world, the lyrics are undeniably relatable and genuine.
We’re proud to be introducing Skinnydip to the Fashionably-Early pages. Skinnydip is an indie pop production duo who have a few singles under their belt. This month, the duo shared their first drop of 2018 ‘Call It Off’ featuring silky smooth vocals from Claire Brooks. The track has a strong analog feel to it, mainly due to the beautiful guitar work on the track. The track has commercial appeal without having to abide by the strict pop guidelines. There’s really an art to creating music like that and Skinnydipseems to have it down.
